Upcoming features

Posted 847 days ago

The next version of FaceList is about to appear somewhere on the horizon. At the moment I am collecting the features I want to add and things I want to change.
These things will be part of the next release:

  • plugins give FaceList the ability to handle OpenType fonts using .net 3 (WPF) technology
  • new ways and possibilities to sort fonts:
    • fonts can be “tagged”
    • tags can have subtags, e.g. “Slab-Serif” as a subtag of “Serif”
  • significant changes to the user interface:
    • tabbed MDI: More working space
    • dockable and customizable toolbars and panels
    • more consistent and intuitive application handling

The plugin model is nearly finished. After completing it I will work on the new UI and the other new features. Don’t count on it, but perhaps you will be able to have a look the new version in the end of september.

Greetings

FaceList is not dead

Posted 901 days ago

Finally I can continue my work on FaceList. My last weeks were very busy and I barely had any spare time to spend on FaceList.

What I currently work on is integrating the .net 3 technology into the “classic” FaceList. The basics of the plug-in framework is finished, and so is half of the first plug-in. I don’t want to promise too much, but perhaps the next release of FaceList will come sometime around september.
